Born in Knoxville, TN, Sam moved to Los Angeles, CA in 2024 after working full time in the East Tennessee Music scene for 9 years.

After studying with Jazz pianist greats Donald Brown and Eric Reed, Sam graduated with a Master of Music from the University of Tennessee in 2022.

Sam’s passion for soulful melodies and groove has led him to play a wide variety of styles and genres including Jazz, R&B, Funk, Gospel, Afro-Cuban/salsa, Pop, and Blues.

Sam has performed with a wide range of artists including Greg Tardy, Donald Brown, Tito Puente Jr., and Ralphe Armstrong. He has also contributed compositions and arrangements to the Knoxville Jazz Orchestra, the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra, and many others.
